Your CosmoCommunity 2007 registration does not include airport transfers to or
from the hotel, so you will need to make your own arrangements for your
transport to and from the hotel. The tips below will help you make
arrangements. For our attendees coming to the event or training by
air, John F Kennedy International (JFK) and LaGuardia (LGA) airports
are located approximately one hour from the Hyatt Wind Watch hotel.
JFK is the recommended airport for
international visitors. Newark Liberty Airport is located approximately 1.5 hours from the
hotel in New Jersey so we do not recommend traveling to Newark
Airport since it is too far. PLEASE
use JFK instead of Newark.
We cannot stress enough that
you should NOT use a taxi cab from any of the airports (with the
exception of Islip MacArthur for domestic travelers) to bring you to
the Hyatt Windwatch Hotel. The hotel is located approximately 45
miles (72 km) from both LaGuardia and JFK airports, and 75 miles
(121 km) from Newark Liberty Airport. A taxi ride will be very
expensive!!
Suggested means of transport include:
- Renting a car
You can rent a car at any of the airports (competitive rates
can be found at by using Orbitz.com).
Typical rental rates are $50 daily for a compact car.
Driving directions are available at
http://www.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/maps/maps_popup.jsp?hotelId=2726
- Limousine transport
If you would like to make your airport/hotel ground
transportation arrangements,
please CLICK HERE. (Please note you will be asked to enter
your departure flight information before your arrival flight
information).
- Train (JFK Airport Only)
If you are flying to/from JFK International airport, a less
convenient but efficient way of transportation is through the
Airtrain from JFK Airport to the Long Island Railroad (LIRR)
eastbound. Complete information about the Airtrain is located
at:
http://www.panynj.gov/airtrain/. The total trip could take
2-1/2 hours.
From JFK airport take the Airtrain to the Jamaica station
of the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) for about $5. Once at the
Jamaica Station, you must transfer to the LIRR line that
services the Hyatt Hotel area. This is called the “Ronkonkoma
Line” and a schedule can be found at
http://www.mta.info/lirr/html/ttn/ronkonko.htm
From Jamaica Station take the LIRR Ronkonoma line eastbound
to the “Ronkonkoma” station, which is the stop
closest to the hotel for an additional $15 or less depending on
time of day. Once you are at the station, there are usually
taxis that you can take to the Hyatt WindWatch hotel for roughly
$10 per person.
NOTE: for guests taking advantage of the technical training
before and after the event dates, please be sure that your hotel
stay adequately covers the training dates. Directions to and from
the Hyatt to CosmoCom headquarters can be
found here.
For domestic travelers Islip MacArthur airport (ISP) is
approximately 15 minutes from the hotel. From Islip MacArthur
airport, there is a complimentary hotel shuttle. A reservation
should be made in advance to guarantee availability. Call the hotel
Bell Captain directly at: +1 631 784 1234
