CosmoCom's CosmoCall Version 1.11 Now Available

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 26, 1998-- CosmoCall 1.11 is now available for download and is recommended for all CosmoCall users. Version 1.11 solves several relatively minor problems that were reported or discovered after the release of Version 1.1, including issues of compatibility between the Java version of CosmoCaller and MSIE 3.0, and the ability to administer agent properties without restarting the ACD Server. From a feature perspective, the following description of Version 1.1 remains accurate.

CosmoCall Telephone Gateway
The software you need to set up the telephone gateway, so that your CosmoCall center can accept calls from ordinary telephones as easily as it accepts calls from network-based PCs. All you need is a voice processing interface board from Dialogic Corporation.

Java CosmoCaller
CosmoCaller, the software used by callers to communicate with the Agents in a CosmoCall Center, is now available in a new Java applet version. Now you can create a CosmoCall Center which does not require a separate software download and installation, and which benefits from Java’s universal client compatibility. The standalone version of CosmoCaller for Windows 95 and Windows NT is also available in a 1.11 version.

Keyboard Chat
CosmoCaller (both versions) and the CosmoCall Agent Client now include complete keyboard chat capabilities, so that Microsoft NetMeeting (or any other H.323 client) is not required for a basic level of communication between a caller and a customer service representative. CosmoCaller alone supports both keyboard chat and CSR-guided browsing. CosmoCall still uses NetMeeting for voice, video, application sharing, and whiteboard services.

Integration via ActiveX Controls
Integrating CosmoCall into another application on the desktop of the Customer Service Representative is one of the most important aspects of a successful CosmoCall Center. Now this integration is simple and fast with these ActiveX controls for both Caller side and Agent side applications. Intelligent screen pops on the CSR’s desktop are now easier to create than you ever imagined they could be.

New Agent User Interface
The user interface of the CosmoCall Agent Client has been streamlined. The agent control panel is now extremely compact. All additional displays and features of the Agent appear when they are needed or requested by the Agent.

Multiple Agent Groups
You can now create any number of agent groups, and associate each group with any number of Queues.
