MELVILLE, N.Y., October 3, 2000 - CosmoCom, Inc., the leader in Internet Protocol (IP) contact center technology, was honored this week with a Rising Star award from the Long Island Technology Fast 50 program. The Rising Stars represent up-and-coming companies that have been in business for a minimum of three years but less than five years.
The Technology Fast 50 program recognizes and celebrates a region’s 50 fastest growing technology companies based on percentage revenue growth over a five-year period (1995-1999). Because CosmoCom has been in business for less than five years, the company was not eligible to be ranked as one of the Fast 50 ranked for their-five year revenue growth. However, the company’s 5,257 percent revenue growth between 1997 and 1999 was a number of times higher than that of even the top ranking companies cited for their five-year growth rates.
CosmoCom’s patented technology enables the company’s eCRM communication platform, CosmoCall Universe, to connect eBusinesses and their customers worldwide in multimedia sessions via the Internet and the telephone, and also manages email and voice messages, all in a single unified platform. CosmoCall Universe supports live online customer care – the next big trend on the Internet – with an IP-based contact center architecture designed for high capacity, high availability operation, and global distribution.
“Awards such as these validate our efforts at a local level,” said Ari Sonesh, CosmoCom’s President and CEO, “Regional recognition is important in helping us to attract and retain the high level of talent that has brought CosmoCom to its current status, and that will fuel our growth as we continue to build the company.”
The Rising Star award joins a roster of impressive awards that have been received recently by CosmoCom. These honors include the 2000 Market Engineering Entrepreneurial Company Award from Frost & Sullivan; Product of the Year citations for CosmoCall Universe from such publications as Computer Telephony, Call Center CRM Solutions, Internet Telephony, and Communications Solutions; and recent Best of Show awards from such widely recognized industry trade shows as Computer Telephony, ICCM, TeleConnect, and CT Expo.
CosmoCom recently completed a $40 million round of private equity financing, funded by the Intel Communications Fund; Marconi Ventures, the corporate venture fund of Marconi plc (LONDON: MNI); and Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV).
