JOIN US FOR NEW HORIZONS IN TELEHEALTH
CosmoCom and Datamonitor Present a
Complimentary Webinar on June 3rd
In
our last issue we shared news of the
numerous healthcare events we participated in across the US in March and
April and told you to watch your inbox for a related webinar invitation. In case
you missed the invitation that we sent out last week or were too busy to
register at the time, consider this article another invitation.
The field of Telehealth is growing rapidly in both size and scope. The
Telehealth of today and tomorrow encompasses much more than video conferences
with doctors, store-and-forward radiology, and home monitoring systems.
Exciting new applications are emerging that draw upon voice response and
multi-channel, multi-tenant contact center technologies to improve the quality
and availability of care while reducing its cost. With the right tools,
providers can now unify all facets of patient-provider communication.
Join CosmoCom, Datamonitor and special guest, CTO of the University of Kentucky,
on June 3, at 11:30 EDT, for "New Horizons in Telehealth," a
complimentary webinar that asks the question, "Could the simple telephone
could be the big health technology breakthrough of the decade?"

CONTACT CENTER CONSOLIDATION 2.0 IN MOSCOW
In Mid-May, telecom operators and businesses from Russia, CIS
(Commonwealth of Independent States) and Eastern Europe congregated at Expocentre
in Moscow for the Sviaz-Expocomm 2009 21st International Exhibition. The event,
which is the biggest and most well respected Telecommunications and IT gathering
in the region, took place from 12 - 15 May.
During the event CosmoCom regional staff joined local partner
Open Technologies for four intensely busy days of educating visitors on Contact Center Consolidation 2.0 and demonstrating CosmoCall
Universe 6. There was hardly a moment to rest as hundreds of eager
visitors flocked to the booth to see what the buzz was all about.
Among the visitors to the OT booth was none other than Russian President
Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev, who also addressed organizers, participants and
guests of the event. President Medvedev was joined in the booth by Russian
Minister of Telecommunications and Mass Communications, Igor Shchegolev, who's
administration was responsible for organizing the exposition.
Also during the event, CosmoCom met with other exhibiting partners including
Sitronics, Compulink and HP. CosmoCom joined HP at their press conference in
celebration of their 40th anniversary of excellence in the region. Among the
topics covered in the session was HP's global partnership with CosmoCom.
We're excited about the continued
growth in the region and you can be sure you'll be hearing more great news from
CosmoCom in the near future.

CCU 6
FEATURE OF THE MONTH
Virtual Outbound Calling and Linked
Campaigns
This month in our ongoing series of CosmoCall Universe version 6 (CCU6) features of
the month we'll take a look at some of the new and exciting enhancements to
CCU's outbound technology. This article is a must-read if you're involved
in telemarketing, collections,
proactive healthcare outreach, or any other outbound telephony applications.
CCU6 builds upon the strengths of CosmoCom's market leading CosmoDialer to
empower virtual outbound calling, a fully distributed, agents-anywhere
architecture that supports outbound campaigns with CosmoCom's overall value
proposition around the benefits of contact center consolidation. Now agents
in any number of sites, including those working from home, can combine their
efforts in a single campaign, or in a blended array of campaigns using the
new Linked Campaigns concept also introduced in Version 6.
Virtual
outbound calling lets large outbound operations benefit from economies of scale
that were not available to them earlier because of the limitations of
traditional outbound technology. With legacy technology, large campaigns had to
be broken into smaller parts that fit the capacity limits of dialers and of
individual facilities. In telecom applications, multiple smaller groups are
always less efficient than one larger group. Now you can assign unlimited
resources to any campaign, regardless of their physical locations, and reach
unprecedented levels of efficiency from one virtual group.
Linked
Campaigns is another outbound innovation in Version 6. With Linked
Campaigns, multiple lists in different formats can be easily combined into a
single campaign, without the management overhead of creating consistent
columns in every source. This capability not only eases the execution of
campaigns with multiple data sources, but also enables blending of
completely different campaigns across a large virtual agent population,
smoothing the workload and maximizing agent productive time.
Besides
these two major innovations, we have introduced numerous other convenience
features such a priorities and time bounding for alternate numbers, and a more
powerful, more granular system of permissions for agents and supervisors.
CosmoCall Universe is now the platform of choice for outbound operations with
the largest and most complex requirements.

ON THE ROAD WITH
PHILIPPINE SERVICE PROVIDER EPLDT
CosmoCom Partner Promotes CCOD for
Telemedicine, ICT and More
CosmoCom's premier service provider partner in the Philippines, ePLDT, had a
busy month on the road promoting their hosted contact center offering Unified
Contact Center Plus and related offerings at several events in the
region.
As proof that the telehealth is of global interest, the First Philippine eHealth and Telemedicine
Conference and Exhibition took place in Manila from 7 - 9 May. The
Philippine healthcare system is rapidly emerging as a major consumer of
information and communications technology. ePLDT was joined by CosmoCom Regional
Director, Beng Kiat Yeo to share how hosted contact center technology can be a
cornerstone of eHealth initiatives.
The following week, from 13 - 16 May, ePLDT exhibited their solutions at the
PAGSO (Philippine Association of General Services Officers) 4th National
Convention in Iriga City. This year's theme was "PAGSO's Response to Global
Challenges in the midst of Climate Change"
Finally, ePLDT wrapped up the month with an exhibition, demonstrations and speaking
sessions around their CCOD and Data center practices at the ICT
Professionals' Congress in Manila from 20 - 21 May. The annual conference
showcased major developments and directions of global and local technology
providers. Market leaders in wireless business data communication and next
generation mobile solutions, top CIOs and other information systems executives
shared their insights, as well as showcasing best practices in offshoring and
outsourcing.
We look forward to supporting ePLDT in their continued growth and success in
the region. |

WHO'S TALKING? RECENT
INK
May 2009 Customer Inter@ction Solutions
The May print and digital issue of TMC's Customer Inter@ction
Solutions contains several stories that include CosmoCom. The first, and
most obvious, is a feature on "CosmoCall Universe
version 6" that profiles the new release. "The
Mobile CRM Convergence" explores how smartphones are changing the world of
customer interaction and states, "There are new tools that extend to wireless
devices the same contact center functions that are available fixed
desktops...CCU6 features CosmoGo, a new smartphone application that delivers ACD, CTI, inquiry and transaction enablement for recurring subjects, and tracking and reporting, all via a 2.5G or higher network."
Finally, "S(L)IPping IP into the Contact Center" looks at how IP is gradually
becoming the norm in contact centers. In a section on SIP the article mentions
that, "CosmoCom, which makes IP-SIP/based contact center platforms, has
considerable experience with SIP trunking through its sales engineering and
support for its enterprise client base" The feature continues with some related
features in CCU6 followed by some insights on SIP trunking from CosmoCom EVP,
Steve Kowarsky.

HQ HAPPENINGS
Cinco de Mayo Celebration!
The Mexican holiday Cinco de Mayo (5th of May) is commonly
observed in various places around the world as a celebration of
Mexican heritage and pride. It has been a tradition at CosmoCom HQ to celebrate the
holiday after work each year, and this year is no exception. We
were attending the LISA award ceremony mentioned
above on the evening of the 5th so we decided to hold our annual
festivities a week later...
The switch worked out in more ways than one. The 5th turned out to be a rainy
day, but the evening of our fiesta was absolutely clear and beautiful; a perfect
time to enjoy some good Mexican food, drink and music in the company of
co-workers and family. We were also fortunate to have some special guests
join us as a number of partners and end users were in town for technical
training. They joined the party and got a taste of our "work hard, play hard"
culture while getting to know some of the people who support them throughout the
year on a personal basis. From the home-made Chili from Ari Sonesh and Kathy
Salt, to the excited CosmoKids clamoring for candy and treats around the piņata,
the evening was a fun-filled success
